Position Overview: Working on various crushing and screening projects, such as N7 road upgrade, Langa Solar Farm Upinton, Keimoes Solar project, UMK Manganese Mine as a Site Supervisor. Crushing aggregates and Manganese Ore. I carried a 2.9.2 legal appointment in this role.
Summary of Duties:
- Supervise and take charge of 53 employees, motivate and plan their daily activities to reach or exceed daily, weekly and monthly production targets
- Coordinate mining equipment and personnel activities (Take general charge of the overall mining operation)
- Monitor pit stability and declare areas safe prior to operation
- Manage operators and equipment to enable effective deployment in the active mining areas as required to conform to production schedule plan (e.g. match trucks versus excavators e.g. number of trucks per excavator)
- Provide solutions to ensure effective production process flow
- Optimize equipment utilization to maximize output and minimize expenditure
- Manage and optimize secondary equipment to ensure achievement of production targets
- Supply mine overseers and management with correct and timeous feedback on mining conditions and performance
- Assist maintenance team with general wear parts replacement to minimize downtime
